I moved to a rented house six months ago. The property manager is a joke. She still I did not sign any rental agreement or lease. In fact the only thing they signed for receipt I gave him the deposit. Anyway I opened my mail the other day and it Wasa for a writ of foreeclosure. Now my friends tell me that I have to pay rent and even 6 months, when I have to be out of here, when the bank takes over? Is this true?
You must continue to pay rent. However, there is isue deposit and prepaid rent you paid. In general, when a property will forecloure the owner has no money and will not be able to return the deposit or any rent paid in advance. I recommend that you deduct from your deposit or prepaid rent you paid for the rent you owe and pay the balance left.
